Temperature Monitoring with Humidy Sensor

[Deleted User][Deleted User]
Does anyone know how to monitor temperature using the humidity sensor? I just purchased the humidity sensor because it was supposed to be a humidity AND temperature sensor. However, I cannot find the configuration option to alert me when the temperature gets too high

You need to define 2 rules in the software:

1/ One for the temperature called "TEMPERATURE" check (in the drop down box of the model of Sensor select the SS6610 which is the humidity & temperature sensor)

2/ Second for the humidity called "HUMIDITY" check

The humidity sensor is always temperature & humidity. However from a software point of view you need to define 2 rules since the graphs, tresholds, alerts etc... are different.

I tried adding a temperature rule by using the "Add New Monitor Rule Wizard". On step 4, I set the COM to COM1 and then set the rule to greater than 30 and tried to test settings. The result returns with the following:

    Status: Down?

Error Returned: Value could not be retrieved from sensor

    Please help

What device type have you selected in the Temperature rule? What error is shown once the rule has been added (so you now should have 2 rules: one temperature and one humidity)

Here are the steps that were followed

    1) click on "Add New Monitoring Rule"

    2) select Temperature Radio Button

    3) unique label name: TEMPERATURE

    4) click on "Next Step"

    4) device that is monitored: none

    5) Group to which the rule belongs to: none

    6) click on ">> step 3"

    7) How often do you want to perform this rule: every 3 minutes

    8) When the rule failed, how often do you want to retry it before considering it down: 3 tries.

    9) click on ">> step 4"

    10) COM port to which the device is attached

    11) Set Status to Down when the temperatue is: greater tha 30

    12) click "test settings"

This is when I receive the error.

But in step 10: what device type have you selected from the drop-down list?

Have you actually saved the settings and then looked at it when running? (the COM port can be accessed only once at the same time - due to the nature of serial communications)
